Thank you for your donations for Xmas stars. You raised 363.30 for CAFOD and helped decorate the church for Christmas as well. Well done.

The New Altar Cloth

The new altar cloth was made and donated by Chris Wood, daughter of the late Frank and Joan Wood who were parishioners of All Saints for many years. We thank Chris for her very generous and attractive gift.

Launch of the Safeguarding e-learning Course for anyone in the Catholic Church


This free course will be available from 30th July to anyone who has a role in the Church or is a Parent or Grandparent or for those wishing to increase their understanding. Sunday 5th April
Easter Sunday

On this day we celebrate the day when they went to His tomb and found it was empty. He had Risen from the Dead. In the following days He was seen several times and they could see the marks on His body made by the crucifixion.

Blessing of the Easter Food Baskets

Once again the Church was used for the East European tradition of Blessing the Easter Food Baskets.

Palm Sunday

The Palms given out on Palm Sunday remind us of the palm leaves that were laid at the feet of Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. They are formed into a cross to remind us that just a few days later he would be crucified.

The Relics of Father Nicholas Postgate


Saturday 21st February

The relics of the Blessed Nicholas Postgate arrived at the Church. Blessed Nicholas Postgate, a local priest who was executed in York in 1679 by being Hung, Drawn and Quartered.

Wednesday 18th February 2015

Ash Wednesday
- On this day all the people approach the altar at the beginning of Mass, and there the priest, dipping his thumb into ashes previously blessed, marks each forehead with the sign of the cross, saying the words: "Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return." The ashes used in this ceremony are made by burning the remains of the palms blessed on the Palm Sunday of the previous year.
